It’s recently been announced that horror legends Bill Moseley (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2), Michael Berryman (The Hills Have Eyes) and Priscilla Barnes (The Devil’s Rejects) have joined the cast of the No One Left Behind and Judy Fox co-production, The Mangled.
Directed by Lawrence Nelson II, The Mangled revolves around the Bates family who are first terrorized by a group of teens, then saddled with a trio of tourists, one of which is seriously wounded. It becomes clear, however, that the Bates’ harbor a few dark secrets, not the least of which is the homicidal Cletus.
Moseley is set to play Bates patriarch Bill, while Berryman plays Bill’s older brother, Frank, and Barnes fills the role of Margaret Bates. Rounding out the cast, in their feature film debuts, are Steve Booth (as the aforementioned Cletus), Mariya Protsenko, and Jenifer Abbey.
Casting continues for the remaining Bates family members.
The production is in search of further financing through crowd funding. You can visit The Mangled Facebook page and, if you want to help out an indie project with some undeniably cool talent attached, be sure to visit their Kickstarter page, as well.
You might also want to check out their promo footage. Gotta admit, it’d be a big risk to shoot the entire film using the kinda color palette shown in these clips, but it could work, and there’s a fairly good sense of tension on display here (the half-naked girls is maybe a tad much, but that’s just me).
