Strap on Your Work Gloves and Check the Throttle: The TEXAS CHAINSAW 3D Trailer is Up and Roaring

So I think it’s safe to say we’ve all been waiting for this one and, with the odd poster and image sneaking out, anticipation has been especially high these last few days.

Well, not only has the trailer for the upcoming Texas Chainsaw 3D finally hit Bloody Disgusting, a slew of new high-res images came tumbling out after it.

For those who don’t know: Texas Chainsaw 3D is meant as a direct sequel to the 1974 original The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and—it’s an easy guess—will help reboot the franchise.

The film is directed by John Luessenhop, was written by Adam Marcus, Debra Sullivan and Kirsten Elms, and stars Alexandra Daddario (Bereavement), Dan Yeager, John Dugan, Bill Moseley, Sue Rock, Tania Raymonde, Scott Eastwood, Gunnar Hansen, Tobe Hooper, Paul Rae, Keram Malicki-Sánchez, Ritchie Montgomery, Trey Songz, Marilyn Burns, Shaun Sipos, Thom Barry and Richard Riehle.

The plot? It’s been decades since the original massacre, and a young woman named Heather learns that she has inherited a house from a grandmother she never knew. She and some friends travel to the home only to find that it comes fully equipped with a learning-disabled, chainsaw-wielding mask enthusiast.

Now, you’ll note from the trailer that this is not the house from the original Texas Chainsaw. In fact, it’s noted in the official synopsis that this story takes place miles from the first.

I’m thinking the trailer looks fairly cool. The visuals are great, though we don’t see too much—and that’s fine. Sure is a lot of chainsawing going on. One thing: Gonna hide in a coffin? Really?

I am in no way excited that the film is 3D. I have never been impressed with 3D and have never felt that it adds to any scene. Besides, all I expect 3D-wise from this movie is a ton of chainsaw blades thrust at my face. Yee-freakin’-haw.

I first saw the trailer on Bloody Disgusting, and that same site has now put up over thirty high-res images from Texas Chainsaw 3D, most of them—if not all—from the trailer.

You’ll find a few of those images below and, below those, the trailer.

Once you’ve checked them out, be sure to visit Bloody Disgusting for the rest of the images
