JACOB Lands Distribution; Available on DVD, Blu Ray and VOD in April

Jacob_posterI’ve written about Slasher film Jacob before. It was and remains one of my favorite indie Slasher films and I had the pleasure of meeting, chatting and drinking with writer-director Larry Wade Carrell and others from the cast and crew.

So I’m more than pleased to announce that Jacob has been picked up for distribution by Kino Lorber’s Horizon Movies label. Jacob will finally be available on DVD, Blu-Ray and VOD as of April 16, 2013.

This is absolutely great news, trust me. Jacob is a smart, moody Slasher that focuses far more on story and character than most, without skimping on the horror, offering up some perfectly satisfying kills.

The story follows the Kell family and, in particular, the quiet, not-quite-right Jacob (Dylan Horne), a young man tenuously tethered to the real world by his young, precocious sister, Sissy (Grace Powell). When tragedy strikes, precipitated by the kids’ brutish step-father, Otis (Larry Wade Carrell), Jacob loses his only link to reality and those who stand against him lose . . . well, arms, heads, blood, blood and more blood.

The film also features stellar performances by Michael Biehn (The Abyss, Terminator, The Victim) and Jennifer Blanc-Biehn (Wrong Cop, The Victim).

The DVD and Blu-Ray will include plenty of special features, including a making of documentary, The Journey of JACOB: From Behind the Scenes, and Carrell was kind enough to supply us here at The Final Girl with an exclusive peak at what should be a fascinating doc, which we’ll be sharing with you as soon as possible!

Though his tireless efforts have finally come to fruition, Carrell is not one to sit back, satisfied with a single success. Carrell is currently at work on a new project, producing Sorrow, a new horror film to be directed by Millie Loredo. We’ll have more about Sorrow soon but, for now, be sure to check out their Kickstarter page and help them get this thing off the ground!
